江湖醫(yī)生大夢(mèng)在云游途中搭救了被山賊打劫的名醫(yī)孟長天之女孟秋水，并隨她來到了玄遠(yuǎn)鎮(zhèn)，此時(shí)的玄遠(yuǎn)鎮(zhèn)正被一種莫名的疾病籠罩，鎮(zhèn)上眾多百姓都染上了類似風(fēng)寒的病癥，卻無藥可醫(yī)。
一個(gè)偶然的機(jī)會(huì)，大夢(mèng)發(fā)現(xiàn)有人向百姓飲用水的源頭投放毒藥，但罪犯卻在被抓到的一刻身中飛彪當(dāng)場(chǎng)死亡，與此同時(shí)，鎮(zhèn)上的大戶楊家的老太太也在吃了孟長天開的藥后吐血身亡，一連串離奇的命案令整個(gè)小鎮(zhèn)的百姓都蠢蠢不安起來，大夢(mèng)為了救全鎮(zhèn)人的性命，也為了還孟長天的清白，開始明查暗訪。
